Generation 2 Transformers
In the mid 1990’s another generation of Transformers was making the circuit. This sequel to the original generation 1 path lasted for about 2 years. This was a remake of the original and was fashioned to bring about an interest with a newer generation while still fresh in the minds of those that been with the generation 1 set-up. The television series that came out was to be neutral as it referenced to the current generation of Transformers and was not to just be a carbon remake of the first time through. One of the alterations was in the symbols that were on the Autobot and Decepticon characters. There was an addition of using brighter colors and making the pieces more child friendly and safe during playtime. There were newer characters added on in the line as well...both the go-bots and Cyberjets.
The popularity of Go-bots is that in size they were a competition to Matchbox and Hotwheels cars. The Cyberjets were almost even in being Autobot or Decepticon in content. the popularity made have been short lasting when the Beast Wars collection out following the Generation 2 line...but they were just as loved as the original generation. It is no small detail that these toys added to many existing fine collections and allowed a new group to enjoy what Transformers had to offer them in fun and opportunity.
